Then three years later I went to Jerusalem to get to know Peter, and I stayed with him for fifteen days. The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother. ~Galatians 1:18&19
One of the things on my to-do list is to have a week vacation to the Holy land. To physically see the land where our Lord Jesus Christ walked on, where the apostles were based. I can just imagine the feeling people get when they are there!
Jerusalem is where most monumental things took place. That's the place where Solomon built God a temple at. God himself requested it be built there. Even after the captivity of the Israelites, that's where God chose to have his temple rebuilt.
When Paul received his message, he didn't immediately go to the other apostles to announce the news. He went away, he returned to Jerusalem three years later, to get to know Peter. Isn't it amazing how he stayed with Peter for fifteen days. The unity the church had during the apostles' days is truly remarkable.
This reminds me of how Jesus Christ went away to the desert after God had declared, "You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Jesus Christ didn't start telling the whole world. He followed the leading of the Holy Spirit and went to the desert. It's my prayer that our lives be full of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, patience. May we rely on God's guidance, and trust in his perfect timing. He will surely fulfil his purpose in our lives.
