God's Perfect Will

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

"Then fourteen years later I went back to Jerusalem again, this time with Barnabas; and Titus came along, too. I went there because God revealed to me that I should go. While I was there I met privately with those considered to be leaders of the church and shared with them the message I had been preaching to the Gentiles. I wanted to make sure that we were in agreement, for fear that all my efforts had been wasted and I was running the race for nothing."

~Galatians 2:1-2 NLT

Is there anything that beats doing things in accordance to God's guidance. It pays to wait. A wise man once said there's something better than living out God's good will for your life and that is, living his perfect will for your life. I love that apostle Paul followed the navigation of the Holy Spirit. He waited fourteen whole years, before consulting with the leaders of the Jewish churches in Jerusalem. Ever heard this famous saying, "when promotion comes, it's too late to prepare"? I believe he wasn't aimlessly waiting but he was in constant fellowship with God, preparing and investing in himself, studying the writings of the prophets of old. What is that thing you believe God wants you to do? what steps are you taking today towards achieving that thing? it could even be simply praying for your future customers (if maybe you believe God is leading you to sell a certain product etc). May we be fully convinced that indeed God is light, he is more concerned about our success than we could ever be. We can trust his perfect will. We can trust his timing and promptings. When he says to wait, it's for our own benefit.
