"Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed."
~Galatians 1:8&9 NLT
The Good News is about God's Son. It is about why God's Son came, died and rose. The gospel is too precious! not only does it contain power to save, it is the very power of God, saving all who believe (Romans 1:16 NLT).
Paul is highlighting in the above scriptures just how vital the gospel is. Which brings to my mind God's will concerning humanity. God's desire and will is for all men to be saved and none to perish ( 2 Peter 3:9) and twisting the gospel results in the very opposite. It goes against God's will. How can people be saved if they never hear and believe the gospel?
Does this remind you of John 3:16? because it just reminded me of that famous amazing scripture.
"God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him, should not perish."
If God wanted people to perish, he wouldn't have sent his son, and note it says whoever, meaning everyone is a potential candidate irrespective of race, age, gender etc.
Lets hold tightly to the Good News we are so privileged to have at our disposal in the form on hard-copy bibles and electronic ones. Let's take full advantage of smartphone apps like YouVersion and any other blogs that share the true Gospel. And above all, let's cultivate a lifestyle of listening to the still small voice when it comes to the sermons/preachers we listen to. May we desire the free gift of the Holy Spirit, discernment, so we can be able to spot false 'Gospel' and not just spot but also have the courage to turn away.. Below is a link to install of one of my favourite bible App, you can compare different bible versions, from KJV, NLT, ESV, GW and TPT (which happens to be one of my favourite). And the audio option is absolutely beautiful!
