It's According to God's Power

Updated: Jul 20, 2021

After that visit I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia. And still the churches in Christ that are in Judea didn’t know me personally. All they knew was that people were saying, “The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!” And they praised God because of me. ~Galatians 1:21-24 NLT

I just love how God always turns what the enemy meant for evil for good. The story of Paul is such an amazing testament of God's limitless grace. Apart from the fact that God chose to reveal mysteries to apostle Paul that were previously hidden from the prophets and other apostles just goes to prove, God has no favorites.

"For God does not show favoritism" ~ Romans 2:11 NLT

If God can do so much through an apostle who previously used to persecute the church, it shows God isn't restricted by our past. He can work through us and use us as a blessing to others regardless of our pasts. This also shows that its not about us, but rather it's all about God and his power at work in us.

"We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves." ~ 2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT

May we take courage knowing that God's grace is sufficient for us. God can do so much in us, through us and around us, not because our pasts are good or anything but simply because he is a God who isn't a respecter of persons and a God who delights in doing above and beyond all we can ever imagine or ask, according to his power that works in us.
